Dr. Lauren M. Gibson is a board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics who has been serving children and families for the past seven years. She earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the University of South Carolina before joining Gadsden Pediatrics in 2019.

Dr. Gibson’s passion for pediatrics began at an early age through the influence of her own pediatrician, Dr. Charles Griffith, cofounder of Gadsden Pediatrics. After shadowing him during high school, she was inspired to pursue a career caring for children and ultimately followed in his footsteps by joining the practice. She believes that everyone has a God-given purpose, and she feels honored to fulfill hers by caring for the children of her community.

Outside the office, Dr. Gibson enjoys exercising, leisurely bike rides, and spending time with her family. She is married to Dr. Austin Mitchell, a local dentist and Gadsden native, and together they have one son, Joshua Taylor Mitchell. They are active members of Church of the Highlands Gadsden and enjoy serving the community through volunteer efforts, including the Remote Area Medical Clinic.
